For months, I have repeatedly received the same automated calls for 1) reducing my credit card interest rates, and 2) my car warranty, despite always pressing the option to have my number placed on their do not call list. Clearly, they don't do any pre-screening since I don't carry credit card balances and I don't own a car!

Twice (including today), when I chose option 1 to speak with someone and started asking questions about who they are, how they get my number to call me, and what fees are involved, they both hung up on me.

Today's call was from Consumer Services, 301-882-9986 - reverse lookup indicates they're in New Market, Maryland. Calls for car warrantees have been with various numbers that appear to be in Nebraska. In addition to reporting this to Do Not Call Registry, I urge all to write their reps in congress.

We're are legion! They just called me as well, 'Warranty Activation Center' or 'Warranty Activation Department'. Same story. I tried to get their company name, and after some circle talk on their end, they hung up after I insisted on knowing the title of their company. No number on the caller ID, complete mystery..

I'm also on the DNC list, and I hope they can put a stop to these people. The Ripoff Report and other sites have many entries regarding this 'company', and it really seems like a scam of some sort.

I hope everyone files complaints with the do not call registry. I've got to imagine someone gives half a shit about potential scam artists out there.

I got the same call just now here in Indiana. Was from Warranty Avtivation Services. When i got the rep on the line, I started to interview him! I asked which vehicle he was calling about (we have 9). He could not tell me. So I asked how his computer could know I had a warranty about to expire but he did not know which car it was in refrence to.
I then asked the name of the company, where they were located and was told Del Ray Beach FL! I asked for the return call number and he said they did not have one! I then asked if someone needed to call them back how would you do that. He did not seem to want to answer that question.

So here is what I did. Indiana has one of the most agressive no call lists in the country, so I filed a complaint with the Attourney Generals office. I have done this in the past and they have gone after the company!

I have decided to report each and every one of these companies to the AG and will let them go get them!

I get calls from these people too. I am guessing that AT&T sold them my cell number because every phone on my plan gets calls from them and there is nothing else that ties these numbers together since we all live in different states and are not connected on any other "database"

This was fun. I got a call today from a nice kid trying to help me lower my interest rates. As we spoke I got on the net and came across sevreal sites with info on these little scam artists. I began reading his own speach back and then started having some fun. We talked about his support for abomanation and that socialism is a good thing for our country. He said his boss has a Porsche and a Ferrari and he is trying to get their himself (completely anti-socialist, but whatever). Then it got a little wierd. We'll leave that out. I eventually took up so much of his time (and mine) he just put the phone down and walked away. I hung up and haven't heard back yet. There is nothing you can do short of going to Tampa and pounding these people.

Received another call from 'Warranty Activation Center' today. This number is 7025200085.

Checking http://www.numberinvestigator.com/702-520-0085.html tells me that Digitcom Services owns the number. I called them. They lease the number to 'a company' that, in turn, leases it to Warranty Activation Center. It appears as though WAC is causing Digitcom pains with the incessant spamming of the world. When you can trace the number to Digitcom, contact them and let them know what their customers are doing.

Got a call today from Interest Rate Management...told the guy I was on the DNC list and not to call me anymore...he said, no problem, I'll update the database and we will call you tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. I said, "you have misunderstood,I said DO NOT CALL", he said no problem, we'll speak tomorrow. I asked for a supervisor, got a guy, said the same thing, he said, we will call you tomorrow and put me on hold!

The number they gave me was 1-800-622-7477...this is a porn site so I can't even report the jerks...do people really do business with this kind of sleaze!

Got a got from a young man who said his name was Jason Ray with Warranty Activation this evening. Showed up on caller ID as "Sales Dept" with 703-291-9045. When I asked who he was with he started giving ne the name of his friend and his mom, etc. Real bright person here. When I stopped him and said I wanted to know what company he was with, he hung up on me. Amazing. Anyway, I hit redial and it went to his voice mail (his voice, his name). I left a message that I had his number and name and would be reporting him. By the way, Warranty Activation has a web site that says they are not affiiated with these sales calls and give you a number to report to. I'm not sure I believe it.

Here's my basic letter to my Senators and Representative (go though and do likewise :-)

Dear Honerable _________,

Many of us have been getting telemarketing calls from someone claiming to be a company named "Consumer Services." I'm on the do not call list. I've filed complaints, going back to last year with the no not call list.

I've hung on the pre-recorded message and asked to be removed. I hadn't received a call in a while but got one again, yesterday (dinner time, of course).

Here's a web site where other folks discuss the same problem:

http://www.grantingersoll.com/2007/11/09/consumer-services-and-warranty-activation-services-phone-calls/comment-page-2/#comment-14372

I always hit 1 to talk. It is always the same one woman, I recognize the voice.

Please make sure they are taken care of. If the folks at Do-Not-Call won't or can't do anything... there are lots of folks who need a job right now to replace them.

Thanks!

"Consumer Services"
File a complaint with
https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

Even if it seems futile. Also write your representatives.
google "write my representative" Tell them they need to earn their salaries.

I had a several month break but just got a call yesterday. They gave me a fake web page of www.epicrelief.com
