Waiting for PC

Hmmm, I started rebooting my new Dell laptop running XP 30 minutes ago (Powerpoint had crashed) and it still has not finished the shutdown process.  Nice.  Beautiful computer, crappy Operating System.

Funny thing is, I’m a Mac guy.  I tried to get work to send me a new Macbook Pro, but the IT guys wouldn’t hear of it.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful anytime someone wants me to have new hardware.  I just don’t get their obssession with supporting an inferior product.  I’ve been running OS X since it came out and I can count on ONE hand the number of times I have had to hard boot because the system froze.  That’s right, less than 5 times, in 3 or 4 years.  And let’s just say I do more than browse the web and read email on it.  We’re talking running my own programs, work stuff, etc.  On average, I would say I have at least 10-15 windows/applications open at one time and the machine is on pretty much  all the time.  As for the PC, frozen/not responding reboots are routine and I don’t even use it as heavily.

Sigh.  If only OS X ran on non-Apple hardware.
